Mit ihm verlor Deutschland einen unbeirrbaren Juristen, der gegen das Schweigen der Nachkriegszeit ankämpfte und die Aufarbeitung der NS-Verbrechen entscheidend voranbrachte. Sein Wirken bleibt bis heute ein wichtiges Zeichen für Rechtsstaatlichkeit, Mut und Verantwortung.
