Another afternoon in Central Park in NYC, before the weather turns cold again. Two views of a downy woodpecker—in the first, you can see its tongue if you look carefully; in the second, it's scored some food. Then there’s a ruby-crowned kinglet, which really shouldn't be here in January (though they're not unknown).
