Glamour selon panda

Ils sont vraiment uniques, ces pandas… hier encore, je regardais un Live Twitch en Chine, où un panda refusait de descendre d’un arbre, se coinçant volontairement entre 2 branches pour dormir dans une position improbable…

💁🏻‍♀️ ICYMI: 🐾🇦🇺 The new #meerkat babies at #Melbourne #Zoo have ventured into the outdoor world for the first time.

Spend 10 uninterrupted minutes with these fuzzy, wobbly pups as they nose around their enclosure. After falling, climbing, and leaning on each other, they return to a cozy family pile to nurse and cuddle.

Baby owls, not always cute. Sometimes, they look like death warmed over, right after waking up but before the coffee is ready.
My sister calls this his "mouldy strawberry" phase.

Anyway, here's another picture of Beans taken the same day as the previous post. I don't think he's quite awake yet

LOOK AT THIS OWL! HE IS SO UPSETTY!!!

There are 2 baby penguins who are staying in a pen in the hall. They're also going to be ambassador birds, so all the keepers are encouraged to pick them up and cuddle them multiple times a day to get them used to people.

BEANS DOES NOT LIKE THE BABY PENGUINS.

Burgers' Ocean (04/03/2026)

In this video, a Green sawfish and several Sandbar sharks swim through the Ocean aquarium at Burgers' Zoo. The sawfish, with its iconic long, tooth-lined rostrum, glides gracefully past a sunken shipwreck and colorful coral reefs. Meanwhile, the sandbar sharks—identified by their tall first dorsal fins—cruise through the deep blue water, sharing the space with smaller tropical fish.

Interesting Facts:
* Green Sawfish: Despite their shark-like appearance, they are actually a species of ray. Their "saw" is used to detect and stun prey, and can also be a formidable defensive weapon.
* Sandbar Sharks: These are one of the most common shark species in the Atlantic. They are known for their slow growth and late maturity, making them particularly vulnerable to overfishing.
* Ocean Ecosystems: Aquariums like this one help raise awareness about the importance of protecting marine habitats and the diverse species that call them home.

In this video, a blacktip reef shark and several sandbar sharks glide gracefully through a massive aquarium at Burgers' Zoo. The scene is tranquil, with the sharks moving effortlessly over a vibrant coral reef and past a sunken shipwreck. Small, colorful tropical fish dart between the corals, adding to the lively underwater atmosphere.

Did you know?
* Blacktip Reef Sharks are easily identified by the prominent black tips on their fins, especially the first dorsal fin. They are common in the shallow, tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific.
* Sandbar Sharks are known for their exceptionally high first dorsal fin and their preference for sandy or muddy bottoms, though they are often seen cruising open waters.
* Both species are vital for maintaining the balance of marine ecosystems by keeping prey populations in check.

Jellyfish at Burgers' Zoo (04/03/2026)

In this video, a Pacific sea nettle jellyfish floats peacefully against a dark background in the aquarium at Burgers' Zoo. The jellyfish's translucent, bell-shaped body gently pulses, while its long, delicate tentacles and ruffled oral arms trail gracefully behind it. The contrast between the golden-hued jellyfish and the dark water creates a mesmerizing, ethereal scene.

Did you know?
Pacific Sea Nettles can have tentacles that grow up to 4.5 meters long! They use these stinging tentacles to paralyze small fish and zooplankton.

Despite their lack of a brain, heart, or bones, jellyfish have been around for over 500 million years, making them older than dinosaurs.
Their movements are primarily controlled by the ocean's currents, though they can use their bell to pulse and move vertically in the water.

Let’s do this! 🦈

Giraffes at Burgers' Zoo (04/03/2026)

A 50-second video showing a serene, sunny day at the Safari plain in Burgers' Zoo. The video begins with a wide shot of a calm pond in the foreground, beautifully reflecting the blue sky and the bare winter trees lining the background. A couple of ducks are resting on the muddy bank. In the distance, a herd of giraffes is gathered near a large, fallen tree trunk.

As the camera gradually zooms in, the herd becomes clearer, revealing a mix of tall adult giraffes and several noticeably smaller, younger calves. They are casually wandering and standing close together on the sandy and grassy terrain. Toward the end of the video, a particularly large adult giraffe enters the frame from the right, gracefully bending its incredibly long neck all the way down toward the younger giraffes.

Fun fact: A group of giraffes standing together like this is called a "tower," and when they are walking, they are known as a "journey." Also, despite those famously long necks, a giraffe has the exact same number of neck vertebrae as a human—just seven!

As far as I'm aware, there are currently no plans to erect a commemorative monument or plaque for Snowy, despite her unique appearance and profound impact on Adelaide Zoo. If you also think she deserves a tangible testament to her lasting legacy, please sign this petition:
