Apple harvest in the Altes Land region, Lower Saxony, Germany.

Inmitten zahlloser, grünbelaubter Apfelbäume ragt ein Stück einer silbernen Leiter hervor. Davor Schulter und Rücken eines Mannes von hinten, die Basecap mit dem Schirm nach hinten auf dem Kopf. Das Bild zeigt eine weite, landwirtschaftlich genutzte Fläche, die sich in gewellten Furchen bis zum Horizont erstreckt. Die Erde ist dunkel und strukturiert, wobei die Linien der Furchen dem Betrachter ins Bild führen. Im oberen Bereich des Bildes, direkt auf der Kuppe des Feldes, steht ein einzelner, kleiner Wasserturm, der das einzige von Menschenhand geschaffene Objekt in der Landschaft darstellt. Der Himmel darüber ist in warmen Pastelltönen von Rosa, Orange und hellem Gelb gehalten, was auf einen Sonnenuntergang hinweist. Das Bild zeigt einen Funkmast (Sendemast) als markante Silhouette vor einem leuchtenden Sonnenaufgang. Der obere Teil des Bildes wird von einem intensiven Farbverlauf in warmen Orange-, Gelb- und Rottönen dominiert. Im unteren Bereich hüllt eine dichte Nebelschicht die Landschaft ein, wodurch die Baumkronen und Hügel nur als dunkle Silhouetten (Schattenrisse) sichtbar sind.
