Gopher Services
Groundhog weather services, Gopherpedia, and VOA are not working. The Conversation is.
Gopherpedia (the Gopher portal into Wikipedia) stopped working in stages. At first, the search worked, but articles didn't display, but now even search doesn't work. This troubles me a lot. I've been using Gopherpedia every day. It's much more light-weight than Wikipedia with a web browser.
Groundhog is weather forecasts. It used to give a forecast for my local zip code (postal code). Now I can't get a forecast for any zip code I know. This is also something I've used every day.
VOA? Well that feed stopped updating when Trump/Musk abolished VOA (the Voice of America).
On the bright side, I discovered an Australian news service that seems pretty good. I've bookmarked it, and I'm going to read it every day. It's called The Conversation. I think this is a Gopher portal into theconversation.com/

BTW, I use MinusBrowser for Gopher. I know of only 3 Minus servers in the whole world, but it also handles Gopher and DICT protocols, and it has some support for HTTP/HTTPS. It will download files with HTTPS, but it won't render web pages. I use MinusBrowser mostly for Gopher.
Oh. I do also use it for some special stuff. It can play YouTube videos without a web browser (or ads). There's a Gopher service called Idiotbox that searches YouTube and gives Gopher URL links to the videos. MinusBrowser has a plug-in script that uses yt-dlp
and MPV to stream or save the videos. It keeps a copy of yt-dlp
in the MinusBrowser folder and keeps it updated. This video feature also supports a couple of Invidious and PeerTube services. And the Media section of the CCC site in Germany.
