Als Antwort auf mray • • •W3C started making more and more use of GitHub back in 2012/2013; a long time before Microsoft acquired it in 2018. The rationale was/is that it's the most common denominator between the 15,000+ potential contributors affiliated loosely or closely to the W3C community, plus a lot more who may then contribute from the public since we conduct our work in public by design. So we too feel the both of you in that it's not the best solution, but it's the closest that exists.
