Haven't heard Trump saying 'thank you' to France.

@joosteto The sentiment is unimpeachable, but things get complicated if you try to factor the UK in.

Also - it's striking how much better Macron's suit is tailored than Trump's.

@DrGecko 🤣 👍

Drumpf looks like he's wearing a flower sack every day of his pathetic life. 🥖

that debt was procured by James Swan who then traded the debt on American markets. So that debt was already paid. It’s astounding how little people know about history and then try to use it to make a point but the point is obviously not made because they’re not in the know.

Ok so 1) you get the concept of a joke?

but 2) they didn't have the cash on hand so no, it wasn't repaid since
it's the Gov who incurred the debt, then sells it to the tax payer? Reverse ponzi scheme really...

3) I now instantly block people who decide to never ending argue a JOKE. That's why it's a joke, it's not journalism.

Take it from Haiti. France knows how to collect debt from another country.

ah but here's the problem- the (French) government that loaned that money has long since ceased to exist.. kinda like owing the Nazis or the Russian czar money.. once the gov't falls the debts become nullified. How many Republics/constitutions has France had since 1775? 4? or 5? Good luck winning that case in court.

Let's dissolve the nation in order to default... and to save countless indigenous lives around the world. The US is evil.

Text : France says the American War of Independence funding was a loan, and is now demanding $150 trillion in interest.

They might not renew the user licence on that Constitution either.
Mind you, it was a fork of an early version, the French are on Republique 5 and it isn't surprising tho Americans are getting trouble from bugs.

@ErikJonker This is pretty much what France did to Haiti, considering the slave's freedom a loan that had to be paid off...

I heard Spain wants to earn some interest for funding this expedition in 1492.

And I'd like to support the upcoming claim of the first nations for a restitution of, well, all of the area that comprises the current United States of America.

Those two claims are somewhat conflicting, but given the displayed wealth of the current POTUS this should be petty cash for them.
