Wie gut lässt sich mit #Kodi fernsehen (bspw. #IPTV)?
Hintergrund ist, dass wir voraussichtlich kommendes Jahr #Glasfaser bekommen und das Fernsehen bislang über #Kabelfernsehen lief. Das #Orion-Fernsehgerät ist noch ohne Internetfunktionen, also kein #SmartTV und bislang wurde linear ferngesehen.
Müsste mir dafür aber erstmal ein #RaspberryPi oder sowas besorgen.
Oder gibt's andere geschickte, idealerweise langlebige und datensparsame Lösungen?
I just published the code of the first prototype of Diapasonix, a bass-like synth and MIDI controller I'm developing.
It uses the fabuolous AMY synth engine and runs on a Raspberry Pi Pico 2. Loads of presets and effects!

Made some progress on prototyping a #RP2040 based #USB Audio interface. I got a PIO program to output a good looking TDM signal for 4 channels of 32-bit samples.
Now I can start prototyping the receiving end of the transaction, DMAing samples into RAM and packing them into isochronous USB packets.

Spent some downtime this holiday weekend setting up an old #RaspberryPi 3B+ as a revese proxy server between my ISP's router and potentially multiple upstream servers at home. Currently everything was going to my #YunoHost VM, but I wanted the option to run other stuff outside of that ecosystem that can still be exposed to the internet.
Configuration was done through #ansible which wasn't as painful as times I've tried using it in the past.

I enjoy setting up a development container at the start of a new project. It takes a bit more time upfront, but then I can work on any of my projects on any machine without having to do toolchain setup all over again. This time it's getting the #RaspberryPi Pico SDK set up with all required build tools. It probably already exists somewhere, but I like building my own.

A #webdev project is getting to a good place, starting to think about the next thing. Thinking about building some hardware for realtime audio processing with a #RaspberryPi #ComputeModule and a custom audio interface with an #RP2040
I want to do some mixing and EQ of multiple audio sources in a small package I can embed into other things. Diving into the #USB spec is a daunting task but seems like the most compatible way to send samples fast.
I'm starting to aquire a lot of micro SD cards for the SBC. When a distribution does exactly what I want to, I do not remove it anymore from the microSD card
It looks like I need to just buy a dozen of those things and I need to start cataloging them!

Can someone explain me why so many people out there are building compute clusters out of raspberry pis? I mean, if you are spending 1000€, then you could just buy a PC, even a used one, have an easier time getting computed whatever you want to get computed, have better performance and save a lot of time.

Couple of weeks ago my 55 years old father asked, if I could help him smarten their home.
I said, sure, what you need? He told me, that they need to change their thermostat.
So I told him about @homeassistant, I ordered him a Bosch Room Thermostat II 230V, a #Zigbee antenna, and my old #RaspberryPi3.
We spent last day installing the hardware and Home Assistant OS.
This morning I got a message from him:
"The base automatization works, now we need only to fine tune it."

und die Daten laufen auf traccar (traccar.org) auf meinem #raspberrypi zusammen. habe sehe gute Erfahrungen damit gemacht, läuft zuverlässig, unzählige Parameter des trackers selbst (Sendehäufigkeit, Sensibilität, Tasten, ..) lassen sich ändern, leider (einziges Manko!) nur mit Windows-Programm.
