I find it quite pleasant to observe bees collecting pollen, flitting from flower to flower. This photo was from a few weeks ago, when quite a number of them were attending to some flowering bottlebrush bushes.

While there are often many bees around when they're hunting for pollen, I'm not typically able to spot more than one bee in a single photo, let alone three, so this was certainly a happy capture.

Another shot from the Royal Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne, this time of a flowering gum tree.

I can't say for sure, but based on what's on the website I think it's possibly a eucalyptus bridgesiana or maybe a eucalyptus obliqua. It also might be neither; it's hard for me to tell - the flowers in this photo seem to be pretty distinct, but a lot of the eucalypt flowers look very similar and I'm certainly no expert!

Whatever the case, they were quite lovely - the usual cascades of leaves gave way to clusters of beautifully-lit pom-pom like flowers.

This area of the garden was draped in curtains of gum leaves and flowers. It seems like we picked a good time to visit.

On Sunday I visited the Totah Fine Arts Festival. The Farmington, New Mexico, region is called "Totah" by the Diné (Navajo People). Totah means "between the waters." Farmington is situated where the Animas, San Juan, and La Plata rivers converge. Here's one of the dancers at the Powwow.

While going on a walk at Listerfield lake late last year, there were a few roos around. Most of them were lying about and the odd one was moseying about. They're not generally bothered by people walking by and will hop about a bit but keep a little bit of distance.
