I always pay 5.50 eur just to be disturbed by those who are too stingy to buy a reservation on time so they end up sitting where seats are available, in the quiet coach!

If you’ve ever wondered how railway tracks are welded together at #DeutscheBahn, here’s the answer in pictures.
I was at the #Spitzke open day in #Leer today. The company is a systems supplier for #railway #infrastructure projects. Today, visitors were able to take a look at the workshops and equipment, try their hand at welding themselves, and experience all sorts of aspects of the employees’ daily lives. It was a completely unfamiliar world to me and very, very interesting.
An old M28 series locomotive, first produced in 1955 by the Hungarian Wagon and Machine Works in Győr. Mostly they serviced industrial railways, moving loads and freight.
This one worked at a now abandoned thermal power plant in Hungary. Now it sits silent and forgotten inside an old rail shed.
