Yay seeds! But... I went into my favorite store with "uma lista!" in English & Portuguese. The seller patiently helped me find things. Reader, I intended to buy six planting potatoes. But in the challenge to express that I would actually prefer red potatoes, despite at first saying either was fine, doing my best with my elementary Portuguese, well: I flat out missed that I was handed a box with 100 potatoes. 100 potatoes! I was so proud to only walk out with *almost* nothing more than what I listed (strawberries & spaghetti squash got past me, but so close.) While not my first #garden, as happens I've never grown #potatoes before, let alone here in #porto. I've drastically rearranged the garden plan. I can now accommodate 18 potatoes, but I'm not sure I should. And even if so... What am I going to do with the remaining 82?! 😳 With a plan for two zucchini, I better figure out an answer I can reuse in a few months! #gardening #raisedbed

Howdy all... planted spuds in the tub today.... as by photos.
Spuds are from a local supermarket, bag of started rooting by itself, so cut off a bit of the spud with the root let, 4 weeks ago, today planted them at the plot.

Hopefully it will go smoothly.

🥔 Germany: Record harvest sparks mass giveaway of free potatoes across Berlin

「 Named the Kartoffel-Flut (potato flood), after the highest yield in 25 years, the bumper crop has inspired one farmer to organise a potato dump on Berlin, with appeals going out around the German capital for people to come to various hotspots and pick them up for free 」

This is early even for me. Normaly, I plant #potatoes in September/October (autumn in the northern hemisphere).
Today I planted some varieties I had been given last year by a friend. She gave me a few tubers of special varieties.
This year after harvest, my wife and I did taste testings.
Bamberger Hörnchen, Violetta and Franceline made it back into the garden today.
The gherkins in the next bed will probably use the space while the tatties are dormant.
