We are responding to a public consultation on the European Commissions’ digitalising travel documents proposal. This proposal promises convenience in travel but could pave the way for biometric mass surveillance and automated discrimination.European Digital Rights (EDRi)
The EU Commission would like to digitalize travel documents using the #EUTravelApp claiming it makes traveling easier for the passengers.
The proposal suggests the implementation of biometric recognition which is known to be discriminating against POC and non-males.
