"#Breastcancer diagnoses are increasing at a rate of 1% per year for all women, and at 1.4% per year for women under 50, according to the #American #Cancer Society.

Fortunately, new technologies are making diagnosis and treatment more effective than ever before, improving breast cancer survival rates even as cases are climbing. Today, the five-year survival rate for all breast #cancers is 91% — and that rate rises to 99% when breast cancer is caught in the earliest stages.

And that’s not the only good news. Breast #cancerresearch is constantly evolving, and #Sharsheret, the #Jewish breast cancer and ovarian cancer organization, is committed to sharing information about the latest cancer #research."

"Even if you’re someone with the most prolific knowledge of #Jewish #American #history, you may not have heard of the small #Caribbean island of #StEustatius. But its Jewish community played an important role in the #AmericanRevolution.

The First Salute, a new exhibit at the Weitzman National #Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia, highlights the important role #Jews across the Americas, especially in St, Eustatius, played in the American Revolution.

“When we talk about American Jewish history, most people’s brains immediately go to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty and the turn of the 20th century,” Josh Perelman, a senior advisor at the museum, said in an interview. “However, in the 18th century, there were Jewish communities in #NorthAmerica, in the Caribbean, in #SouthAmerica.”

Bonhoeffer said a Christian can and should do three things towards unjust political systems:

- call out the wrongful behaviour
- help the oppressed
- or put a spoke in the wheel

How much can the #American body politic still learn from the Germans’ experience with their unjust regime in the 1930s and 40s?

“There are 3 basic differences between we British and you Americans. One, we speak English, and you don’t. Two, when we have a “World Championship”, we invite teams from other nations. Three, when you meet the British head of State, you only have to get down on one knee.”
