🚨 New Blog Post! 🚨
This post is the first in a small series of posts covering the design and build of a new #HomeAssistant Core integration to control my #Roth Touchline SL underfloor heating system.
In this first post, I cover the design, implementation and publishing of the underlying #Python API client I wrote to enable the development of the Home Assistant integration.
Enjoy!

One thing I absolutely love #homeassistant for is how i can say "Kaisa, turn on (or off) the fan in *insert amount of hours, minutes or seconds here*
It's so convenient, It has pushed me to name all the switches + devices I have. I'm NEVER going to get out of bed or open the phone app to turn on my fan/lights/coffeemaker lmao
Waiting on some speaker cloth, but finished my first DIY voice satellite for @homeassistant
Also added the Snapcast/Music Assistant/ChimeTTS integrations so automations can use it as a target device.
Still to do: Setup custom wake word, configure device aliases for more natural interaction, and build more automations to use it.
Another day of being amazed at #HomeAssistant.
I've got a new #BroadlinkRM4Pro for handling my IR-controlled speakers and my RF-controlled ceiling fan.
I was making my own little scripts and stuff for _frankensteining_ some kind of fan interface and another for the integrated light when I realised that **there is an official system for doing that**

@homeassistant @openhomefoundation I love you so much.
Thank you to Shelly and @homeassistant as they caught and alerted to a natural gas leak today in my home.
The Shelly Natural Gas sensor started going off and a few moments later the Home Assistant alert came in. Found the knob that was open on the stove.
Was not enough to smell either...
❤️Thank you Home Assistant and Shelly; you do make a difference ❤️
