I use Nextcloud Photos. But definitely not very happy with it. Its the worst part of Nextcloud, imo.

Ill have a look at others, now that I know that there are alternatives.

I want to say "Memories" but am not sure about the mobile experience (and two-way sync in case I edit images locally).
That there's Photos, Memories, and Recognize instead of a single well integrated component for a key need for people coming from, say, Google unfortunately reflects the disadvantage of the "more apps always good" philosophy which, to a user, is very untrue.

(We see the same with Notes/Text/Collectives etc. Integration is happiness, even if it lowers velocity a bit.)

Wait, there's options? I just have auto upload configured in the Nextcloud app. And it... Somewhat works, I think?

I didn't know there were different photo apps for nextcloud, just add-ons. I shall check out Memories.

I tried using Nextcloud (with Memories on the server since the Photos app is a fragile mess) to upload and back up mobile photos. Did not work reliably, especially when there were connection errors (and, surprise, on mobile there are connection errors!). Some things photos were not backed up at all, so cannot be trusted. Moved to Immich and never looked back.

i hope you could make a working app for iphone photos. Automatic syncing is not working on normal app.
