Ugh, looks like there are some unscrupulous AI scraper bots (totally ignoring robots.txt) trying to ingest as much code from public forges as they can. My #forgejo running server nearly overheated this morning trying to deal with what basically amounted to a DDOS attack from IP addresses distributed all over the world.

We can second this. Most recently, we had to block bytedance for excessive crawling.

We'll think about it. Not sure if there are legal requirements with regards to publishing IP addresses. It might not only contain big (and publicly known) ranges but also smaller abusers like misconfigured CLIs.
