#ALT4you Go to an old cemetery. See all the baby graves from before the 1950s & 60s? After that, hardly any. That's when people started vaccinating their children against deadly childhood diseases. If you're unsure what to do to protect your kids, the answer is literally written in stone.
I was in an old cemetery in my father’s hometown. Family gravesite: married couple buried some time in the 1950’s. Three small graves dating from 1921 ish — January, February, March. Polio was going through the area that year, among other things.
INFECTIOUS DISEASES KILLED 40-50% OF U.S. CHILDREN 1800-1850 In the first half of the 19th century, between 40% and 50% of children in the U.S. didn’t live past the age of 5. theconversation.com/infectious…
Between 40% and 50% of children didn’t live past 5 in the US during the 19th century. Popular authors like Charles Dickens documented the common but no less gutting grief of losing a child.
I'm not looking forward to increased rates of preventable death in unvaccinated kids going forward but I am looking forward to volunteering my expert testimony as an epidemiologist for the rest of my goddamned life to punish the stupid fucking assholes that promote anti-vax bullshit. Yup, that will be exceptionally sweet.
