I had no idea that Xournal++ had geometry tools. I discovered the compass and the speed square while doing some idle sketching for an upcoming coffee table build on the PineNote! This is the appropriate level of "CAD" for me at this stage of the build, graph paper with a protractor but super easy copy paste to visualize various combinations.

This is open hardware running free and open source software, I love this so much!

Der Schrank hat es am Wochenende in den Keller geschafft. Obwohl er in obere und untere Hälfte zersägt war, war es knapp an der Treppe, aber es ist geschafft.

Jetzt müssen noch die Griffe wieder drangeschraubt werden.

Außerdem sind die Rollläden noch nicht wieder mit den Griffleisten verbunden. Die hatte ich zum Schleifen abgeschnitten.

Danach kann ich überlegen, wie ich ihn benutze.

Es fing alles damit an, dass ich einen Schrank bei kleinanzeigen gesehen habe. Der sah passend für die Werkstatt im Keller aus.

Nach kurzem Überlegen habe ich ihn gekauft. Seitdem steht er draußen. Es ist nämlich ein PROJEKT geworden.
Ich mag den Schrank und möchte ihn lange benutzen.

Deshalb habe ich mir vorgenommen, ihn aufzuarbeiten.

Jetzt besitze ich auch einen neuen (gebrauchten) Bandschleifer.
Den kann ich gut für die 16 Fächer brauchen.

Seit Wochen schleife ich jetzt an dem Schrank rum. Ich habe ihn auch zerlegt, weil er statt Türen Rollläden hat.

Jetzt ist er sogar schon fast komplett mit Leinölfirnis bearbeitet.

Bald darf er in den Keller und wird hoffentlich gut dahin passen, wenn ich alles wird zusammen bekomme.

Ich mag den Schrank, wirklich.

After fixing up the bike trailer I was able to retrofit the parts so I can attach the kayak again. I'm still not super happy with the long pole. I'd like to think of a better way but this works for now.

Please enjoy this ridiculous thing I made for my new bathroom. My self-assigned brief was:

- Store bulk toilet roll in that convenient space over the cistern,
- In a way where you can easily grab a new roll from sitting on the toilet,
- Without risk of toilet roll avalanches when you do so.

It's a dispenser loaded from top, with a sloped bottom that leads down to a hole at the bottom corner to take one roll at a time.

It is not neat or polished but it DOES work.

Schön war es gestern im #Wald beim #vhsdresden Kurs Spielzeugbau. Die Sonne zwinkerte zwischen den Bäumen hervor, das Wasser plätscherte, die Kids schnitzten oder spielten mit ihren selbst gebauten Sachen. Es enstanden ganz eigenwillige Dinge nebst Zwergen, Schwirrhölzern und Brummern. Selbst ein provisorischer Löffel wurde angefertigt und benutzt.

Spielzeugbau im Wald steht auch für #Kindergeburtstag und andere #Natur-Werk-Anlässe, #Schule und und #Kita in #Dresden zur Verfügung.

There it is! My own #Gesellenkiste A miniature #SeaChest, copy of an antique from an extinct shipyard: Howaldtswerke #Hamburg. I believe it's from their apprentice shop. One of many in the course of apprentices becoming journeymen.

Mistakes were made. Lessons were learned. Crimes were hidden, as Adam Savage would say. Just needs finish.

Oh, and hinges. And beckets. #Metalworking and #fancywork! But that will have to wait a bit. Stay tuned, I guess.
