Workshop posters I designed for »Stadtoase« (city oasis), a biodiversity project directly in my neighbourhood that seeks to transform urban space into micro habitats that serve biodiversity, climate protection, nutrition and recreation in the same time. In their workshops the project aims to pass on their knowledge and inspire people to transform their own gardens in natural and biodiverse spaces, too.

It was a pleasure for me to design these posters and to be a small part of this wonderful and meaningful project. The posters were hanging all around the neighbourhood and sometimes people just came to me telling me that they really liked the posters, and that was very nice.

I also designed a third poster for the summer workshops, but it is quite similar to the spring edition, so I decided not to show it here.

Some experiments with papercuts, plants and cyanotype, refined with coloured pencil. The selfmade photo paper I used was already a bit older and reacted a bit strangely. Also, I worked with autumn sun, which is different than working with the summer sun. So, in the end the results are not perfect, and I think I will try again in summer. But still it was a lot of fun to search for interesting plants in the garden, to try around and catch some last sun rays of the year.

This small freshwater pond harbours three species of plants in decline: creeping marshwort, fen violet and greater water-parsnip.

Ten species of dragonfly have been sighted in this habitat since 2021. Dragonflies thrive in unpolluted waters and have a long underwater larval stage (8 weeks to 5 years) before emerging as adults.

Freshwater ponds need nurturing and protecting from the pollution around us.

By doing so they help to nurture us too. #Biodiversity #WeAreNature #SolarPunkSunday
