#URSS #USSR #mapas #maps

Empezaron por Algeciras (1973).

In Russia it doesn't even matter what your ideology is, the vast majority of people lost out in the privatization of the 1990s. It was absolute chaos and it was a terrible period. I've spoken to a lot of people - people our age - who whose childhood took place in the 1990s, and they say they remember times where they didn't have anything to eat except for bread and water. So the kind of breadlines and hardship that the Soviet Union is always accused of, that was actually what capitalism was like in the in the 1990s in Russia.

The people that are creating the mainstream narratives about Russia and the USSR, they're not even Russian, they're Americans that grew up in in the United States and decided to - like you said - cherry-pick the perspectives of super anti-communist people, that came from the the USSR and eastern Europe. I think the the biggest example that we can use is Timothy Snyder who Grover Furr calls out [for what Snyder writes in] his book Bloodlands, because he makes all of these crazy assertions about the things in the USSR that most people in Russia and even in eastern Ukraine - which are relevant to his writings - would think are ridiculous. And the reason is because he only cites super ultra-nationalist sources, like sources from people who are like the descendants of nazi collaborators. These are the sources that are being used by mainstream academia to frame a narrative what the USSR was like.

My goodness some of these photos are like memory bolts for me. This interior of a Soviet Cafe is so prototypical as to be a madeleine of sorts for me. The stark lack of goods and information, the blocky analog cash register, some weird folksy decoration, wood details, the smock. It's also a ghostly self-portrait which delights the witness and time-traveller.

A group of WWII vets in Leningrad in 1991. Their poses and faces are speak volumes.

Funny that everything this administration does reminds me of the USSR in the 1970s: the nomenklatura, fake figures ( tariffs don’t bring money in the USA , money goes from an American pocket to an American pocket ) , nuclear threats, the bright future for the working class ( spoiler alert it is a total bs ) , intimidation of allies…

The empire is crumbling. It will be long but very painful for the gagas.

It makes me seeing people glorify communism and the USSR as some sort of ideal example.

Socialism and collectivism are good. Centralizing power in a governing body, including the means of production is absolutely 100% unequivocally an awful absolute equally as shit system as capitalism.

Before you @ me with anything go read something by en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_A… and then come back and tell me #communism or the #ussr are or were net good, or idyllic.
