Common Toad sitting in a road in Priston, near Bath. It seemed a bit stunned & may have been hit by a car, but after checking it over I could find no serious injury. I moved it to safety and it wandered off. Sadly, not all toads are this lucky, but several toad patrols operate around Bath in breeding season to help them out.

While out with the dogs and cat I saw this toad down by the walk out. It's nice seeing toads and frogs, they eat bugs that go after the garden.

We are staying with the Olympus Trip 35.
And have thoughts about exhibitions...
I always have doubts about how photography is displayed in frames on a wall, where your work, into which you have put so much time and love, is viewed distractedly and then forgotten. Guerrilla exhibitions seemed an interesting idea to me. The small photograph was displayed where it had been taken a few months earlier... The photograph within the photograph was taken with an Olympus Pen half-frame camera, and the photograph itself with an Olympus Trip 35.

It’s February, and the rain that started at the beggining of Dezember, doesn’t stop. Temporary ponds fill, and with them come the first calls of the natterjack toad (Epidalea calamita). Loud, raspy, unmistakable — an early sign that the breeding season has begun.

One sign of spring are the toad migrations to the ponds. I have seen the toad fences along the road near a pond in my neighbourhood for the last few years and this year I finally spotted the little animals.
