All’inizio sbagliavo i prezzi, ma sto imparando. Romantico?

I quit my job as a social media manager to open a pastry shop in my home kitchen. Initially I was making mistakes with the prices, but I’m learning. Romantic? Yes, but on TikTok you only see part of the story: the story of Joanna Walesiewicz.
Preparing cakes to relax isn't unusual. Leaving a secure job to open a sort of bakery in one’s kitchen is far rarer. This is the story that Joanna Walesiewicz, 26 years old, tells People.
We are in San Diego and Walesiewicz worked in social media marketing. This during the day, because in the evening, once she arrived home, she couldn't wait to lock herself away in the kitchen to make sweets. Too many to consume them all, so much that she ended up giving them to her neighbors.
Then a kind of spark ignites when a neighbor asks if she can buy some. Walesiewicz then decides to set up a stall at a market and there she has her first sale: “I was really excited.”
The decision is made. The 26-year-old opens Lucky Banana Bakery. She combines the preparation of sweets with communication on TikTok and starts organizing monthly sales: everything begins to grow, not only the numbers on social media but also the customers who return. At some point Walesiewicz quits her job. The opportunity to really expand the business arrives when she is able to enter markets with her stall: “Instead of selling once a month only to people who already know us, I could broaden my horizons and be discovered by new people,” she explains.
