Sketched these Polyommatus butterflies at a Barnes & Noble in Ithaca from a reference. Graphgear 1000 (.3 & .5, 2B + 4B), Blu Tack, and a few mins of stillness. Some of their caterpillars team up with ants, who guard them in exchange for sugar. #sciart #pencil #art

Processing what I experienced on my field trip to the #jeollanamdo #haenam development #Solaseado - I’ve been drawn to return to sketching while listening to my encounters with the #landscape - here is the first… something struck me about the #heat and #dry #earth on the plains around the industrial development site. The earth was terracotta coloured, the desiccated clay of a fertile soil

Okay, so I didn't get to draw much and figured I'd try to see what my brain does without a reference after a bit without any work. Any #artist willing to tell me why this looks off?

Not looking for praise, really want to understand what my brain isn't doing quite right yet.

I feel it's how the hair falls on the left side and probably some proportion issues? The eyes probably, too?
