Kennt sich jemand meiner Follower hier mit #Immich aus? Habe zwar ein NAS, allerdings nicht Docker-fähig. ich habe jedoch noch ein Dell Wyse Thin Client auf dem nur HA läuft. Könnte man da noch irgendwie Immich unterbringen?

Some folks are confused about #BrightTable. Fair, because it isn't your ordinary photo viewer.

If you have Immich installed and edit raw files, this product is for you. If you don't know what either of those things are, take a look at #shotwell.

So...I have talked about my home lab journey here a bit. One of my goals has always been to get away from Google and Apple. I started this journey with changing my email provider to @Tutanota and my social media accounts on #Mastodon, #Peertube, and @loops. That was easy compared to what I'm trying to do now with my Pixel phone and my iPhone. I just switched to #immich for photos.

Immich -> Fotobuch erstellen

Mal als Artikel-Idee auf meine Todo-Liste, da mir gerade für ein eigenes Fotobuch Immich die Sichtung sehr erleichtert hat.

Mir geht es ja nicht darum, ein "Papier-Backup" von möglichst vielen Fotos zu erhalten.

Ich möchte meine persönlichen "Best of" in Szene setzen. Wie schon mal gepostet: Einfach nur für mich.

Die Vorauswahl mit Tag-Ranking wandert dazu in ein virtuelles Album (das wird später wieder gelöscht, die Fotos darin ...

Draußen regnet es in Strömen und gewittert. Die richtige Zeit, es sich im #Wohnmobil gemütlich zu machen und sich um sein #Update vom #UGREEN #NAS zu kümmern. Alles gut gelaufen inklusive #Docker Update und sämtlichen Containern wie #Nextcloud, #Immich und #Jellyfin. Alles läuft wieder 1A wie am ersten Tag. 🤩

Immich seems pretty nice, but... its docker-compose container suite is *6 Gigabytes*. That's absurd. The machine learning tagger container isn't even the largest! The app container itself is over 3 GB.

You talk about #Immich Exif? I never tested it, but it's interesting.
immich.quub.tech/exif says:

I assume, there are no duplicates.

Isn't this an issue of Pixelfed in general?

Anyway, because I lost everything I decided to give up on traditional image sharing platforms and use @pixelunion instead. Non-destructive cropping and being able to share/embed those dynamic sources thanks to #Immich is a game changer; fosstodon.org/@stardust/116216…

Putting the finishing touches to a special project to put an end to my frustrations for the lack of an open source image manager for GNU/Linux that is simple to use and works with my preferred image library and raw processor.

Works with #Immich (the library), #ART Raw editor, and #RawTherapee, #Darktable (the photo processors). Consider it to be a light table on steroids.

Off course this will be #FOSS

Gerade gesehen: in der Immich App kann man die öffentliche URL seines Servers eintragen und (!) die private IP Adresse. Im heimischen WLAN wird die genutzt, unterwegs die URL. Super. 👍

Ich mache immer schön artig eine #Immich Datensicherung, u.A. synchronisiere ich immer das Bilderverzeichnis aus Immich auf mein #MacBook und gucke dann da mit #DigiKam mal rein (hab ich vor Immich benutzt). Etwas Sorge bereitet mir das #Backup der Immich #Datenbank, weil ich nicht weiß, wie ich das auf Korrektheit prüfen kann. Und wir haben ja gerade gelernt, was passiert, wenn man alles sichert bis auf die Datenbank. ( #anoxinon )

For me Google Free or deGoogled means getting rid of their services and Android (including OpenAndroid). I am proudly and eagerly waiting for my Jolla J2 (2026) phone.

Ich kann in der #Immich App in der #Kartenansicht zwar Fotos markieren, aber dann damit nichts machen wie zum Beispiel teilen. Ist das ein Softwarefehler oder mache ich irgendwas falsch?

warte persönlich noch ein paar Monate bis Version 3 raus kommt. Da soll auch die Sharing-Funktion überarbeitet werden, was bei Fotos ja sehr wichtig ist. Kann #Immich sonst aber sehr empfehlen.
Und kostenlos ist das natürlich nur wenn man sich keine Lizenz kauft - muss man nicht, aber ihr wisst ja wie das läuft.

Immich:

Mit dem Linux-Programm Mimick lassen sich Ordner auf dem Desktop überwachen. Der Sync neuer Fotos erfolgt dann automatisch nach Immich.

In Rust geschrieben und flott. Auf diese Weise kann man seine Fotos auf den gewohnten Speichern organisieren und muss dazu nicht ins Web-Frontend von Immich.

Anyone have any experience with #podman ? I’ve been experimenting with #docker by running #Azerothcore but I want to expand to running my own local #mastodon and #immich services as well. I tried Mastodon in Docker and it was a hassle on #PopOS - constant restarts of the db and web containers in a loop. I went through as many trouble shooting steps as I could but it never worked. I’m hoping Podman will be easier?

If you need more examples of how awesome #Immich is:

This morning I wanted to find a certain photo I took during the rain.

➡️ Opened up iPhoto and typed "Rain." It spit out a bunch of useless results (like 1800 "Rainforest" images which were basically every forest photo I've ever taken, most in clear weather) or text results for the word.

➡️ Opened Immich and typed "Rain." Tons of photos AND videos. Found what I wanted! It wasn't super accurate but it produced results!

Took another step towards #DigitalSovereignty today! I'm now self-hosting my own instance of #Immich to store all my photos, officially saying goodbye to Apple's iCloud. It feels great having everything entirely under my control, running on my own hardware using CentOS-Stream 10 and #Podman.

a) move my immich server from my raspbery pi SD card storage to an external HDD
b) update it to the latest version
c) did it all using just CLI

I think I am kinda cool.
