I had surgery on my right shoulder on 3 April.
I knew straight away that I wouldn’t be able to take photos with my right hand for quite some time.
So I’d looked for a solution...
( This photo was taken in the changing room just before the operation )

The smallest camera I own is the Yashica Electro35 MC

So I’d tested it beforehand to see if I could actually operate it with my left hand.
It was also the first time I’d used colour film in my tiny little Yashica

The lab in #ghent I’ve been using all my life (and get very little credit for) has had its full-frame negative scanner break down. So I’m missing my proof that I don’t crop my photos… sorry about that !!

It seems to be from a time when they really did their best for me at the photo lab. (It all depends on the person doing the job, and that wasn’t always the case at this particular lab in Ghent. )

To be honest, I’ve actually lost some of my passion for cars over the last two decades. Internal combustion engines are over a century old and are therefore, in fact, very outdated technology. Those in power would have us believe that polluting our own environment isn’t a big deal and that the consequences we face can be resolved as long as their oil and money taps keep flowing...

So my boss at the time had bought this classic car. It turned out to be a bad buy, as there was all sorts wrong with it. But it was a nice model to test the camera on ;)

And I also remember walking back to #Chur with my colleague / friend Max (there must have been a theatre there). It was, to say the least, a tough walk. Not so much because of the distance, but because the paths suddenly became so slippery and we were wearing ordinary ‘walking shoes’. It was too far to turn back and actually quite dangerous in places.

I think I took this photo because I had a " shutter button hunger " . Perhaps also because seeing all these sticks sorted by size gave me a sense of Swiss precision

After a few hours of nothing but white, green and every shade of grey, you’re happy to find a bit of red ...

How lovely, a red train against a white landscape. And always right on time. I’ve been lucky enough to visit Switzerland several times on tour with theatre productions. It’s a fantastic country, but actually maybe a little too expensive for my budget to use as a holiday destination.
I particularly love their respect for nature.

I remember zipping around #Ghent on my Yamaha SR 500, and at the time this Cabane hadn’t been open for long. A lovely initiative, and a beautiful location and little building.
