🇺🇸: The dovetail butterfly (Papilio machaon) is a butterfly in the swallowtail family (Papilionidae). Along with the scarce swallowtail, it is one of the largest and most conspicuous butterflies in German-speaking countries, with a wingspan of 50 to 75 millimeters. It lives in one to three generations in sunny, open areas, such as poor grasslands and dry grasslands. The range extends across large parts of the Northern Hemisphere, from Europe to Asia and Japan.

🇩🇪: Der Schwalbenschwanz (Papilio machaon) ist ein Schmetterling aus der Familie der Ritterfalter (Papilionidae). Der Schwalbenschwanz ist neben dem Segelfalter einer der größten und auffälligsten Tagfalter des deutschsprachigen Raums und hat eine Flügelspannweite von 50 bis 75 Millimetern. Er lebt in ein bis drei Generationen in sonnigem und offenem Gelände, wie z. B. mageren Grünlandbeständen und auf Trockenrasen. Das Verbreitungsgebiet des Schwalbenschwanzes erstreckt sich über große Teile der Nordhalbkugel von Europa bis Asien und Japan.

🇺🇸: The Eurasian red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris), often known simply as the squirrel, is a rodent in the squirrel family (Sciuridae). It is the only member of the squirrel genus that occurs naturally in Central Europe and is also known as the European red squirrel to distinguish it from other species such as the Caucasian red squirrel and the grey squirrel, which is naturalized in Europe. The squirrel’s body structure is adapted to a tree-dwelling and climbing lifestyle. It weighs around 200–400 g. The head-body length is 20–25 cm. The bushy tail, which is covered in two rows of hair, is 15–20 cm long. It serves as a balancing aid when climbing and as a rudder when jumping. The tail is always held in the air when running.

Es ist der einzige natürlich in Mitteleuropa vorkommende Vertreter aus der Gattung der Eichhörnchen und wird zur Unterscheidung von anderen Arten wie dem Kaukasischen Eichhörnchen und dem in Europa eingebürgerten Grauhörnchen auch als Europäisches Eichhörnchen bezeichnet. In seinem Körperbau ist das Eichhörnchen an eine baumbewohnende und kletternde Lebensweise angepasst. Es wiegt etwa 200–400 g. Die Kopf-Rumpf-Länge beträgt 20–25 cm. Der zweizeilig behaarte, buschige Schwanz ist 15–20 cm lang. Er dient beim Klettern als Balancierhilfe und beim Springen als Steuerruder. Beim Laufen wird der Schwanz stets in der Luft gehalten.

Olé Bokeh

So once again I was standing in front of one of my favorite motifs. My good old lonetrees. Just as the little protagonist in “The Sixth Sense” saw ghosts everywhere, I see these woody creatures everywhere. Well, you have to have some kind of talent.

Recently I've been thinking in color and so the squeaky yellow rape field was a welcome stage and the cloudy blue sky a welcome curtain. So I dived into the viewfinder and . . .

“Wait! Before you go back to exclusively reeling off your classic lonetree compositions, why don't you play with a bit with Bokeh! Ok. I'll give it a try and . . .“
