Are there any legal and political progress with respect to #Google 's decision to reject the installation of any app whose developpers are not verified by the company? If not, are there any other initiative to help users keeping the capacity to use #FLOSS apps from repos like #Fdroid ? It seems it is possible, but I'm not sure how many people will be able to implement it on their own or will have the means to buy a phone with #eos or #graphenos already installed.

One oft the few things I still haven't figured out is how to backup my device. I want to have a full backup being able to restore it fully to a New device, once lost, damaged vor stolen. Most data is in #nextcloud and @mailbox_org, but things like apps and their configurations need to be Bäcker up AS well.

Installed the #eOS 4.0 on my #Fairphone 6. Unfortunately still no Android 15 and still no Material You (or whatever it's called nowadays) color support. So that means I still have these blue colors. For me this is an #accessibility issue, because I'm oversensitive for light and somehow blue makes this worse. I never understood the reasons why @murena forces one accent color on their users.
So hopefully this can be fixed.
I'm already on #eos @ v4 with my FP6.

Auch Dank der vier Künstelr aus #Dresden wird also ein ganzes Haus Teil einer #Digitalpolitik, die auf #Digitalesouveränität und das freie #Internet ausgerichtet ist.

So geht es auch. Weil /e/OS ein #customROM ist, ist für #Banking Apps erst einmal verdächtig.
Statt die Benutzung plump zu sperren, kommt eine Warnmeldung.
Bestätigt man diese, geht es ganz normal weiter.

Aktuell nutze ich #eos auf dem Fairphone und (noch) laufen (fast) alle Apps die ich brauche, der Großteil von #fdroid .
Jetzt zeichnet sich ab, dass einerseits viele Apps bald nicht mehr unter entgoogletem Android laufen werden und gleichzeitig nagelt Google das System so zu, dass viele Apps von F-Droid nicht, oder nur mit viel Gefrickel laufen werden.
Kennt ihr das Problem?

On the linked page, I found that Fairphone 4 and 5 are supported for upgrade, but no mention of Fairphone 6. Did someone forget this model, or is there no way for me to get that on to my phone?
And also: how can I find out whether I have the community edition?

Ich nutze mein #fairphone 6 mit #eos nun seit Monaten intensiv und verwende zwei dedizierte Benutzer/Profile: privat und dienstlich.
Zusätzlich verwende ich die Dual-SIM-Funktionalität, also eine eSIM und eine TripleSIM. Heute habe ich das März Upgrade (gitlab.e.foundation/e/os/relea…) erhalten und konnte es ohne Probleme OTA installieren.
@e_mydata @murena Herzlichen DANK für Eure tolle Arbeit. Ich bin ein extrem zufriedener e/OS "Jünger" und kann ein Fairphone 6 mit e/OS einfach nur weiterempfehlen.
Solche Projekte und Unternehmungen sind von hoher Bedeutung und Relevanz...sie stützen Demokratie, Sicherheit, Nachhaltigkeit und Unabhängigkeit!

Ich weiss nicht, ob mein nächstes #Smartphone ein #googlepixel mit #grapheneos oder ein #Fairphone mit #eos sein soll.
Technisch gesehen, bevorzuge ich das #pixel mit #graphene . Aber ich habe ein Problem damit, #Google so viel Geld für die #hardware in den Rachen zu schieben.
Jedenfalls will ich weg, von #Android mit Google.

Weiß jemand, weshalb die Ikea Smart Home App unter #eOS nicht funktioniert? Ich komme bei der Ersteinrichtung bis zu dem Punkt, an dem ich Cookies akzeptieren oder ablehnen kann. Danach gibt es sie vielsagende Meldung "Leider ist ein Fehler aufgetreten". Mehr geht nicht.
Die Privacy Funktionen hatte ich schon testweise aus und über 5G habe ich es auch probiert. Half alles nichts.
Hab mal nh Frage zu den technischen Details vom #Fairphone. Was ist am 6er abgesehen vom etwas schnelleren RAM besser als beim 5er?
Es gibt ja ein paar Downgrades (USB-Port, etwas langsamere CPU)
Würdet ihr euch eher ein 5er oder 6er mit #eos holen? Grade auch mit Blick auf die Haltbarkeit bzw. Updateperspektive.

Nachdem nun ein Android Auto fähiges Fahrzeug in der Garage steht, wollte ich das Ganze unter /e/OS doch mal ausprobieren. Ein Erfahrungsbericht.
Neben #Linux #Windows und all dem #eOS auf #Smartphone usw... wird es nun Zeit sich von #Amazon zu verabschieden.(Ich rede hier nicht vom Bücherkauf, den sowieso schon immer im Laden vor Ort). Mehr das gesamte Andere, was man "so halt bestellt". Leider nicht so leicht wie gesagt, ist man doch sehr verwöhnt. Inzwischen bin ich bei #kaufland #voelkner und #Otto gelandet. Naja. Wie sind eure Erfahrungen?
