Cold War military jet plane, Northern England - (Urban Exploration) Urbex & Abandoned

🛩️ An old military jet trainer plane left on the moorland of Northern England

This model is a Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star jet, used as a pilot trainer aircraft. These planes first flew in the 1940s during the early Cold War period.

After retirement from service, this airframe was moved here for use as a static dummy target by the military. It now sits alone in flooded moorland, exposed to weather and isolation. Instead of sinking into the soft, spongy ground, she appears to almost be floating on her belly!

Whatever original paint there was is long gone, along with most of the fittings and panels that have been stripped out.

Brits should read this ⬇️ exchange between Epstein and Thiel.

Epstein explicitly mentioned Brexit as a successful step to destabilize societies in order to create profit opportunities.

This email between #Epstein and JD Vance’s tech oligarch benefactor fascist Peter Thiel where they plan to “collapse” society to create investment opportunities for themselves.

Epstein and Thiel also met with the UN ambassador to Russia together. Russia carried out successful hybrid warfare operations against the United Kingdom (Brexit) and the United States (Trump-for-President) in 2016.

Malsis School, in Crosshills near Keighley (North Yorkshire). Photos of the abandoned school taken a few years ago, after it closed and had lain derelict for a while.

Founded in the 1920s, it operated within a 19th-century mansion.

It closed in 2014 after going into administration.

Now it is renovated as a nursing home specialising in mental health care.

Warum hört man bzgl. #Deutschland nichts?

What are your inspirations or what inspires you?

Annatomix: I get inspiration for my work from a huge variety of places, but my main focus is around the relationship between humanity and nature – such as how humanity tries to force nature to do what it wants, and how futile that is.

I read a lot and I particularly enjoy philosophy, theology and mythology – the more ancient, the better – and this also has a big influence on what I create.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder (trying to sound clever; in reality just an unintentional selfie!). Exploring a gorgeous car graveyard in the East Midlands of England.

New location and photo gallery will go live 8pm Sunday (UK Time).

Until then, are there any car enthusiasts in the audience? Can you guess the exact model of this old timer?

I think that Wolf Cleugh Farm, near Rookhope in Weardale, Co Durham, was abandoned in the 1960's (the fireplace looks late 1940's/early 1950's).
Even in its now in a very ruinous state, there is a haunting connection to those who once lived within these walls.
The former farmstead is also tied in with the area's lead mining past.
In the late 19th century and early 20th century, the property was occupied by the Roddam families, with George Roddam living here with his wife Annie, working as a shepherd and his sons working in the nearby lead mines.
The Roddam's would later move further down the valley to Daddry Shield and I have not as yet been able to find out who last occupied the property.
It certainly looks like quite a while since the last time a fire was lit and someone was cosily tucked up in bed in this room!

In the heart of Richmond, the bustling #MarketSquare is framed by cobbled streets and surrounded by Georgian architecture, creating a quintessential #HistoricTown atmosphere. The prominent clock tower of the medieval Richmond Castle keeps watch over the #TownCentre, while the striking obelisk adds to its historic charm. Visitors often pause here to admire the #ClockTowerView before continuing along the #ScenicWalks that wind through the castle grounds and down to the River Swale. The square serves as both a hub for local life and a starting point for exploring the surrounding Yorkshire Dales.

When wondering how best to describe the settlement of Thwaite in North Yorkshire, I went for 'hamlet', but then discovered it is described by some as a 'village'. So that got me thinking, what is the difference?
One helpful definition I came across describes a 'hamlet' as a tiny, rural settlement without a church or central services, typically smaller than a village which is likely to have a church, school and maybe shops.
A hamlet is more likely to be little more than a cluster of dwellings, but a 'village' will generally be more developed.
I think that puts Thwaite in the 'hamlet' category.
Situated near Muker in Swaledale, alongside Thwaite Beck, it was, from 1974, part of the district of Richmondshire, but since 2023 falls under the unitary North Yorkshire Council.
Popular with walkers, two long-distant paths run through it, the Pennine Way and Wainwright's Coast to Coast.

After a day of strong winds and driving rain, it was all calm today in the wake of the UK's third named storm of the year.
It was still a bit misty and murky along Sunderland's seafront in NE England, but infinitely better than was was being thrown our way 24 hours ago.
These dog-walkers were pictured heading along the Seaburn/Roker promenade towards the Cat & Dog Steps beach at lunchtime today.
