"Do *you* understand ISO?" from Minutephysics.

I thought this was going to be about the International Standards Organization. Wikipedia says: A common misconception is that ISO is an abbreviation for "International Standardization Organization" or a similar title in another language. In fact, the letters do not officially represent an acronym or initialism.

It stands for: International Organization for Standardization

Anyways, the video is about the ISO setting in digital cameras and how it's been misunderstood.

We fly home tomorrow from #Arizona with plenty of red rocks photos, but also funky little towns, fascinating people, ancient civilization artifacts, and wildlife.

Een couple of my DVDs containing some of my Open Source distributions.

I deliberately did not go back to the CD era, otherwise I would be forced to use the DSLR with a 14mm Ultra Ultra wide lens.
Even with that marvelous lens I would still not be able to capture all the CDs displayed

#Poll: #photographers that use a dedicated camera (not phone), what kind of camera do you mainly use (not including your phone)?

For the purposes of this poll, a digital point-and-shoot is defined as a mirrorless digital camera that has a sensor smaller than an APS-C or similar sensor size (intended to be inexpensive and for mass appeal, rather than pro or prosumer).

(I'm personally sad that dSLRs seem to be going away, and thereby the concept of the optical through-lens viewfinder, as well)

It is waaaay too early to be thinking about buying lenses but out of curiosity, what should I look for?
Camera: Olympus E510
I currently have:
14-42mm 3.5-5.6
40-150mm 3.5-4.5

Iโ€™m completely new to this so sorry if Iโ€™ve listed the wrong numbers.

Iโ€™m not looking for anything yet but I like to know what my options are. Am I restricted to 4/3 lenses? It seems difficult to search for as everything is micro 4/3, which I may or may not be able to use with an adapter? TIA #Photography #DSLR

My Canon EOS M50 - a camera I absolutely love using. It is my avatar as well. I love using old Canon FDn manual lenses with this mirrorless body (via a K&F Concept adapter). Most often I shoot in Manual mode - it very much reminds me of the "good old days" with my first SLR camera - an Olympus OM-1. I sometimes miss shots because I'm just too dang slow, and other times I'm using Canon EF-S zoom lenses which are auto focus and image stabilizing.

How about you? Do you have a modern camera that you use old manual lenses on? Any tips for getting great shots with this kind of setup?
