A spotted willow leaf beetle just hatched from its cocoon. It's still mostly white, since its exoskeleton isn't fully hardened yet. The cocoon was hanging upside down from a leaf and the bug is still clinging on to it.

What you can see here is a seed in the palm of a hand. The half-translucent worm crawling on it is the larva of a fungus gnat. The seed has been hollowed out by these little insects. That's catastrophic if you try to grow food and it gets eaten before it could even sprout.
