although their numbers are said to be declining, Cariagrion Nipponicum were flying around in large numbers in this park during the summer, but I only saw one today... hope many more will appear next year #damselfly #nature

another damselfly, with a translucent body, perhaps it had just emerged from its nymph stage. In this state, I can't really tell the species... based on its size, it might be Ischnura senegalensis or something #damselfly #nature

spotted a Lestes temporalis for the first time! a bit larger than typical damselflies, and it perches with its wings open. I wish I had photographed this with just a little bit more sunlight... so that golden-blue-greenish metallic sheen would have been even more striking... a bit of a shame it was cloudy #damselfly #nature (reposted from 3 days ago)

also Ischnura senegalensis that I photographed casually, but when I looked at it on a large monitor at home, I realized it was in the middle of eating (2 photos) #damselfly #nature

another Ischnura senegalensis, on a different day, in a different location, seems to have eaten its prey, which appeared to be even larger than itself, to the very end👀 (3 photos) #damselfly #nature

just a day of nice weather, it's raining again... 🥺but I have a bunch of photos I haven't uploaded yet anyway...
when I take pictures of small insects, I'm always quite surprised to discover things I wouldn't notice just by looking at them. this Ischnura senegalensis had caught a small insect when it flew off and landed somewhere else (2 photos) #damselfly #nature
