This is an Atmospheric Watercolor Landscape Painting in portrait orientation in an A5 sketchbook. Using Daniel Smith Shadow Violet and New Gamboge and Winsor and Newton Manganese Blue Hue, this piece has a glow while feeling decidedly cold. Shadow Violet is practically black in masstone and granulates into a a smokey purpley gray in its medium and light values. Manganese Blue is a vibrant medium cool blue and is striking against the moody shadow Violet. New Gamboge give a pop of light in its pure form but goes green when it mixes with the blue. The rugged landmass mass pulls in all the colors in masstone and slightly diluted values. Bits of white watercolor paper give dimension along with various length of grasses. The atmosphere is light values of blue, yellow, bits of green, and granulating shadow violet.

This is a September project with Let's Make Art of a beach view from above in Greece. It is painting in landscape orientation in an 8x10 sheet of Arches Coldpress watercolor paper. In this watercolor painting, the ocean is crystal clear and is rippling over rocks underwater. Closer to the beach are some rocks protruding out of the water. Water gets a light color of blue as it gets closer to the sandy beach and seafoam is visible around the rocks and shoreline. On the right side is a landmass that takes up about a third of the length from the right top corner down to meet the beach with a little ocean on the very right side that also meets the beach. The landmass is green with plant life on the upper half and drops off to the sides and forward with an orange rocky uneven terrain.

This is an Atmospheric Watercolor Landscape Painting in portrait orientation in an A5 sketchbook. Inspired by Daniel Smith's Stormchaser Triad; I used DS Bloodstone Genuine, Duochrome Cabo Blue, and WN Prussian Blue. These watercolors make for interesting combinations. For instance, the Cabo Blue with appears like an icy blue in masstone, when diluted (an perhaps it's mingling with Bloodstone Genuine) it appears like a sage green. While both bloodstone and Prussian Blue are both quite dark in masstone, Cabo Blue is not, so it naturally lends itself to lighter values in masstone. In the landmass there are varying colored smudges, mostly masstone, but a few diluted areas along with the white of the watercolor paper. Bloodstone Genuine is pushed into the atmosphere on the sides in diluted granulating values. Medium values of Prussian Blue hover at the horizon line but is then diluted further in the sky. Long grasses add movement and texture.

This is an Atmospheric Watercolor Landscape Painting in portrait orientation in an A5 sketchbook. Inspired by Daniel Smith architecture triad set of Buff Titanium, Lavender, and Sepia (I used Winsor and Newton's Sepia), the creamy buff titanium contrasts with the dark brown Sepia which in turn mingle with lavender creating moody grays. In this composition, there are distinct saturated smears of each color but also medium values that mix and mingle creating texture in the landmass along with grasses. At the horizon line the colors are diluted and pulled upward in districts bursts which is then diluted further into light atmospheric values with granulation from the lavender pigments. Longer grasses reach into the atmosphere.
