1. It’s snowing here in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and there’s still snow on the ground.
2. Thankful for an all-wheel drive to get through the snow to the closed gate to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
3. Though I couldn’t go further up the Parkway with the camera, I was happy with the view of the sign and the snow falling.

Hello friends, hope your day went well. An hour or so ago Melissa looked outside and we had half a herd of deer eating corn in the woods. I probably need to buy another bag or two. We don't feed year round but with the ground covered in snow the last two weeks I figured they could use a little help. Hopefully this stuff starts melting more quickly this weekend.

The coyote was out earlier this evening. Melissa put out a pile of corn and bird seed. I would imagine the it's attracted to the 20 deer, birds and multiple woodland creatures that visited throughout the day.
I'm glad he survived the extreme cold. Nights got to -20°F with the wind, plus a foot of snow. They're resilient animals. 🐺

I was surprised at how many people were out and about in the frigid cold this morning: lots of traffic and a wait to be seated at the restaurant for brunch. I enjoyed having a one-on-one talk with my friend, as when there are more of us, another woman tends to dominate the conversation.
This afternoon I went next door to spend some time with my neighbor's cat. She had to go out of town for work, and while the cat is fed each morning by a guy she's paying, the poor little kitty is left all alone the rest of the time. I have a key, so I'm visiting every day in the afternoon until my neighbor gets home.
