First proper #parkrun of 2026 today, after tail walking on NYD and then all the snow cancellations. So we tried a new place to celebrate, a nice simple out-and-back at Wynyard Woodland.

It was pretty muddy already, and then started to rain for the second half, but by that point I was hot and sweaty enough to appreciate it a lot. Am now extremely foisty.

Got a sort of, unofficial, parkrun PB by one second as well, so hooray!

Inspired (read: shamed) by @hanten , I went out #running for the first time in over a week.

Exercise is really not a good look for me.

È il primo anno che divento così veloce (per i miei standard, si intende) senza aumentare i kilometri in vista di una maratona e soltanto affidandomi a un paio di allenamenti di qualità a settimana. Non so quale dei metodi mi piace di più, forse il primo, perché comunque fare i lunghi alla Forrest Gump mi piace molto, però chiaro pure che richiede più tempo. Chissà, magari a forza di farle alla fine anche le ripetute mi diventeranno grate quanto i lunghi infiniti 😅

Finishing the year strong with perhaps my best 10K run ever. 10K time of 50:50.

That's 32 seconds off my PB, which I got during a half-marathon event (Run Melbourne 2024) on a closed course in marathon shoes (Adidas Boston 12), whereas today I ran in my residential neighborhood in daily trainers (Hoka Clifton 9).

Extremely stoked about this.

Ieri tra manifestazione nel pomeriggio e il concerto la sera al Cantiere di Monterotondo sono riuscito a ritagliarmi anche una corsetta al volo, al parco sul tardi. Freddo cane ma a suo modo molto bello correre al bagliore della #luna, non mi era mai capitato prima, mi ha riconnesso con l'Homo Heidelbergensis che c'è in ognuno di noi 🌙✌️😅

I was volunteering as a course marshal for a half marathon this morning. Runners follow the sidewalk to the cones then turn to run on a trail. SO MANY people cut across at that trashcan and ran through the gravel to the trail. That is not running a tangent, that is cutting the course.

It’s a small thing and really doesn’t matter but also it does. Congratulations, you completed a half marathon but you cheated to do it. You cut the course to save like 10 steps, well done. #running
