#BloomScrolling A nice little find nestled on driftwood on the shore of Vancouver Island at the end of summer. It took some effort to identify it. It's an ivy-leaved toadflax (Cymbalaria muralis).

Red-breasted Merganser, Washington

I saw this same kind of duck posted on PixelFed a few weeks back, I had never seen one before. I thought the serrated bill was so cool. Then I saw one within a week nearby my house, mind blown.

One of the many diving ducks around here I had no idea existed!

We ticked off another #waterfall last week, so here's the most famous one in the #Washington area (or so they say) for #WaterfallWednesday: #SnoqualmieFalls!
Since we could only go after work, it was already dark and the park had closed. But since they built a big-ass resort next to it, it was lit up like a Christmas tree. Needless to say, we spotted zero northern lights either.

I hiked the Cave Ridge trail via Commonwealth Basin Trail last Saturday with a friend who has hiked the lesser known trails around Snoqualmie Pass for the past 4 decades. At the top, there are indeed caves and we talked to a group of spelunkers before they descended into the darkness with all their gear. Photos are Guye Peak from the approach to Cave Ridge, and then in the other direction at an outlook near the caves.
