Einsatzbericht für Nitrokey 3A (No NFC)
Ich habe diesen Nitrokey 3A (No NFC) als Geschenk von GNU/Linux.ch erhalten für den 5K Artikel. Am Wochenende hatte ich genug Zeit, um diesen Stick zu testen und hier nun meine Meinung.

Alter, wenn du den Nitrokey 3A Mini entfernen willst und dann die Platine und die Einzelteile in der Hand hast. Was ist DAS denn bitte für eine Qualität? Den kann ich jetzt wohl quasi entsorgen. Und dafür zahle ich knapp 50 Euro?
Ich glaube ich werde doch bei meinen Yubikeys bleiben, proprietär hin oder her. Bei denen ist mir sowas in all den Jahren nie passiert. Ganz schwach.

Gerade den Nitrokey 3A Mini gekauft. Er ersetzt künftig meinen alten Nitrokey Storage und dient mir für OpenPGP bei E-Mails, die SSH-Anmeldung per Public Key sowie die Smartcard-Anmeldung unter Linux. Den verschlüsselten Massenspeicher brauche ich nicht mehr - dafür ist der neue Nitrokey deutlich kleiner und kann dauerhaft am Notebook bleiben.

Ist bestimmt ein #Nitrokey, deswegen dauert das so lange.

I donate money to an open-source project every quarter. I always choose one, that was helpful for me or that had a great new release.
For Q3/2025 this was now @nitrokey because I absolutely *love* their products. Open source powered hardware crypto keys with FIDO, GPG and PIV.
All powered by an Open Source firmware, written in Rust. This is true digital sovereignty!
I use it for everything. LUKS, SSH, Mail signing, Git signing, VPN authentication, WebAuthN and more.
Amazing product from a company with an amazing spirit! This should absolutly be supported.

A while ago, the #Matrix server I was on announced they'd be shutting down, so I switched to #NitroKey's @nitrokey 's nitro.chat, believing I'd be with a reputable company.
I was shocked to see open advocacy for #CSAM in their main, public Matrix room. Reporting the posts did not have any effect. Bringing up the issue to NitroKey's CEO #JanSuhr just yielded his reply that they are banning users "sharing any illegal or even potentially illegal content" - while the posts advocating for CSAM are still available.
My conclusion is that @nitrokey thinks that #CSAM advocacy is ok in their rooms, as long as they believe it can't have legal consequences for them.
I will no longer recommend their products and services, and will move my account to a place that has a firm, effective moderation stand against CSAM and CSAM advocacy.
