This will probably be my last photo with the Olympus Trip 35 for the time being. Winter is on its way and I won’t be carrying a Trip35 in my pockets then… But this is still a summery scene: picking produce at the organic farm on a summer’s evening. The crops had also suffered from the heatwave, but in the evening the sun gently sweeps across the fields with a warm glow

without asking what happens next

a pink wheelbarrow waited in the grass
for a small practical miracle

above them, the sky considered rain
the village considered nothing

We are actually more accustomed to the term ‘city palaces’ when talking about, for example, cities in southern Italy. Yet there are also several in my home town of Ghent. They are simply not so conspicuous in the streetscape but lie hidden behind the long rows of old houses. Sometimes they are only accessible via a large gate opening onto the street. That is how I recently rediscovered the Hotel d’Hane Steenhuyse and its garden.
