I visited the New Mexico Bureau of Geology...website. Many states have a geology department where you can find geology roadtrip guides, often for free. I downloaded the "High Plains NE New Mexico Raton..." field guide thinking it might identify additional exposures of the K-Pg boundary, where an iridium rich clay layer marks the fallout of the Chicxulub event that wipeout the dinosaurs. But the field guide is from 1961 & it wasn't until 1980 that the Alvarez hypothesis was purposed. 🫤
