🌳 Lonely, windswept trees existing on the harsh rocky outcrops of the Yorkshire Dales limestones. There is something evocative about these gnarly trees, symbolising nature's resilience and the idea that life always finds a way. The images were captured using a 1970s 35mm camera and Kodak Gold film.

From a couple of years back. Joey being bribed (probably with the promise of cheese) to pose for the camera.

Zürich train station

First home developed and scanned b&w film. Pretty pretty excited about this more involved process. By no means perfect but we're learning. More to come.

"Born too late to explore the world..."

You've got to think small. Parts of the world smaller than your thumb are still a bigger mystery than the map of the world has been since the invention of the airplane.

Explore the fine details. You'll find plenty to do!

I'd like to shoot more 4x5 because it can be great fun. This one was handheld at f/5.6 and 1/25th. Not something one would normally do with this camera. What is this, 1950?

I have just completed my BW film development kit, and this is the first roll I developed, from my Debonair #toycamera. Film: Kentmere Pan 200. Developer: Arista D76. Most photos here were taken at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. I won't be too sad if I screw up and lose this roll. Developing film is way easier than I thought, 10x easier than staining microscopy slides which I used to do as an undergrad. However, scanning is 10x harder than I thought. No wonder most labs separately charge for scanning and Photo Life often screws up the scan. No wonder dedicated film scanners are so expensive. How I scanned: I have a 2009 inkjet printer that comes with a scanner. It can't scan at high enough a resolution though for now it's good enough for Debonair. Next time I'll use the digital camera method. #believeinfilm #shittycamerachallenge #filmphotography #analogphotography #ishootfilm #lomography #lofi #snow #winter #nyc #lightleak

Downtown #Schenectady NY, probably autumn 1977. A dreary day in what was then a dreary place, even though I loved it. The Proctor's Theatre on the left has survived and expanded, the old local department store hung on into the early '90s, everything else has changed. The buildings are mostly still there, and renovated. Looking at this I mostly remember how bad the air quality was.

One thing I've noticed on Mastodon so far that I don't *love* from the #filmphotography community is that people will rarely list their #camera /lens, #film stock and developing method (chemicals used, push or pull etc) while on Reddit's #analog sub it's pretty much mandatory.

Looks like I somehow managed to not post this one before. Shot with hand-spooled #16mm imagelink #microfilm in a Minolta 16 II subminiature camera.

This is the bell tower for a historic local immigrant church in Queens dating back to the mid-late 1800's, around the time of the American Civil War (I took other photos of the place on my feed).

The bell tower still functions and tolls at certain hours during the day.

Is Kodak Tri-X 400 good option for a portrait? I mean, I'm a lil bit worry not to waste it, my grandma wants good portraits pics and I have Mamiya RB67, a bit afraid to misfocus and such, and it's not like i have a budget now buying cheaper film for test and then better one. I wanted T-Max, but heard that T-grain film is too sharp, almost digital like, so idk.
