CDR's #CROI is way too low. #MEERorg already delivers climate adaptation with high enough CROI that allows #adaptiveMitigation. They've checked we have enough material and energy to do it.

Why don't independent scientists and engineers check their warning and proposal, and discuss it publicly ? Before tipping elements cause too much chaos for real #climateAction .

Exactly, especially with all those tipping elements we know are there but can't clearly see. Not them, not how they link. Have YOU checked MEER's warning and proposal ? What do YOU think ?

Her mother named her ‘Hope’ after surviving a home birth during a Red Level 10 storm.

Her story's a reminder of the need for change, and that there is still hope that decision-makers will take #climateaction 👇

"Alongside the mobility hubs, the [Monterey County Zero Emissions Shared Mobility] study recommends creating #eBikeLibraries, which provide free or low-cost long-term lending for those who can’t afford an e-bike of their own. The study says the libraries would be ideal for farmworker communities and those with physical limitations who would benefit from a bike with an electric assist. The estimated startup cost for a library with a small fleet of e-bikes is about $282,000.”—Aric Sleeper, #MontereyCountyNow

All my projects are casted in reclaimed and recycled foam found in my neighborhood in Thailand. From discarded packaging to dumped ice boxes in nature, usable foam planks and blocs are cut. This helps cleaning up the environment and no new produced foam is necessary for my projects.

We must move faster and with more vigor.

Oregon has stood as a leader for protecting our natural resources. But as long as it's business as usual, we will continue to suffer the more direct impacts of climate change. The average temperature for the past 3 years has been 1.5⁰ higher than preindustrial averages.

We already see this in our snow pac, seasonal floods, droughts, and failed crops.

We can no longer afford to work around the margins. We need bigger change.

Trees do so much more than just regreen a landscape.

They’re homes and food sources for countless animals 🦧🌳

When we plant trees, we restore habitats – and protect the lives that depend on them.

Keep searching with Ecosia to help us do this 🫶

Workshop posters I designed for »Stadtoase« (city oasis), a biodiversity project directly in my neighbourhood that seeks to transform urban space into micro habitats that serve biodiversity, climate protection, nutrition and recreation in the same time. In their workshops the project aims to pass on their knowledge and inspire people to transform their own gardens in natural and biodiverse spaces, too.

It was a pleasure for me to design these posters and to be a small part of this wonderful and meaningful project. The posters were hanging all around the neighbourhood and sometimes people just came to me telling me that they really liked the posters, and that was very nice.

I also designed a third poster for the summer workshops, but it is quite similar to the spring edition, so I decided not to show it here.

"climate scientists are predicting devastating consequences, just as the world’s governments appear to have lost their appetite for tackling the emissions that are causing the warming."

I managed to tell another 40 odd people yesterday about the importance of peatland and why they shouldn’t buy compost unless it says peat free on it.
They also got some sphagnum moss* to take home in a jar to grow their own peat bog (over the next 500 years).

*sphagnum was responsibly sourced, grown in my garden from a small batch of dried sphagnum moss for hanging baskets bought c. 15 years ago.

Do you know how much plastic you use in an average week? When we take the time to actually record it, it can be an eye opener that leads to behavioural change.

You can sign up for the UK’s Big Plastic Count 9-15th March 2026 from the link below.

The cumulative data from the campaign is used to put pressure on the Government to act to reduce plastic use in the UK.

#FollowTheMoney 🧵 48/n here also a link to the other paper on Eastbourne climate activism, i’ve shared it before but doing so again as it has a brief section on what kind of work is rewarded by high salaries, and what isn’t. I still feel this is an incredibly important topic and not really talked about enough in #ClimateAction circles. Maybe we can talk about it more together here?

The desert must be one of the least hospitable places a human being can live. However, our current way of food production is steadily pushing the soil towards desert. Has this always been the case or are there systems that work in the other direction? Time after time we come across the role of the tree and the combination of different vegetables, fruits and grains that make productive ecosystems more robust. Together we will visit the climax of nature on earth: the Amazon rainforest; only to discover that this was largely planted by mankind.
So, if we did it once before, maybe... we can do it again?
