PINK FLOYD
Ummagumma
1983 Canada 2xLP reissue
[Rainbow Labels]
One weird Floyd deserves another.
This comes courtesy of the power of suggestion, via @tg9541 .
When I posted Atom Heart Mother earlier, I did not want to give the impression that I hate Ummagumma.
Because I definitely don’t.
There’s enough weird shit on this (weird Floyd is the best Floyd) to keep me coming back to it, but up against AHM, I just find the latter more interesting.
Ummagumma can get a bit tedious at times, particularly the live set, but I do love the songs on LP2, particularly David Gilmour’s 3-part 12 minute “The Narrow Way”.
If I’m cutting something from the second record, it’s definitely Waters’ completely asinine “Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict”.
I’d rather spend 5 minutes cleaning my fan cage.
