This late 19th-century quinta began as a large winemaking estate. It was later repurposed as a wedding venue before closing its doors approximately 20 years ago. Since then, the site has remained abandoned, decaying as the decades pass by.
The interior is quite beautiful, especially the former dining room. This space is bright with natural light, highlighting the decorative gold-gilded plasterwork ceiling and fascinating wall frescoes.
Detailed murals decorate the walls, including a large fountain scene above the fireplace and three panels on the opposite wall depicting town life. These illustrations transition from peaceful roadside and waterway views to a more dramatic scene of townsfolk fleeing a volcanic eruption.
This abandoned Welsh chapel stands near the edges of a lovely village in North Wales. It was built in the 1880s to serve the Calvinistic Methodist community. The building was designed by a Liverpool-born architect and constructed with a Classical facade.
Inside, there was space for 350 people on wooden pews spread over the lower floor and upper circle balcony.
The building operated for over 130 years, providing Welsh-language services and serving as a central point for the community.
The chapel closed down 10-12 years ago. Declining attendance and mounting repair costs forced closure of this once bustling hub.
It was subsequently sold, with plans filed for conversion into holiday apartments. Even years later, work hasn't started. The chapel faces an uncertain future, decaying more and more as the years and the inclement Welsh weather take their toll.

These subterranean structures were built during the Cold War across the UK. Between 1956 and 1968, the Royal Observer Corps established a network of 1,563 posts. These were managed by the United Kingdom Warning and Monitoring Organisation
The primary function of these sites was to detect nuclear detonations and monitor subsequent radioactive fallout. Each post features a 4.3-metre access shaft leading to a reinforced concrete room. Standard dimensions for the underground chamber are 5.8 metres by 2.6 metres.
As the Cold War threat waned, the network was decommissioned in 1991. Most sites are now abandoned. While some remain intact, many are now flooded or vandalised. Others are restored and preserved as museums. Many others are demolished or permanently sealed.

This beautiful abandoned church was most recently used as a nightclub after the final religious service decades earlier. The nightclub closed down around several years ago, and it has stood decaying and vacant ever since. Somewhere in Belgium.

Jazzo La muratella
An jazzo is a traditional limestone enclosure used for sheep farming, typical of the Apulian landscape in southern Italy (specifically the Murgia region). Historically, these structures were vital hubs for transhumance, the seasonal movement of livestock between pastures.
Built using dry-stone masonry, an jazzo usually features a large main courtyard and smaller internal compartments designed to protect the flock from predators and harsh weather. One of its most distinctive architectural elements is the paralupi—a series of protruding stone slabs along the top of the walls designed to prevent wolves from jumping inside. These structures represent a unique blend of rural functionality and sustainable architecture, perfectly integrated into the rocky Mediterranean environment.

This mourning hall was built in the 1890s, and has a Neo-Gothic architectural style. The long corridor is lined with cubicles. Each one is partitioned by metal walls, with a matching metal door.
Inside each is a low stone slab with a stained glass window to provide natural light. In these cubicles, the family and friends could say goodbye to the deceased in private.
