Seems a lot of people outside of the UK weren't aware of events unfolding here. With people leaving Twitter/X for other platforms, it's more important than ever to understand and promote federation between these platforms.

You know how folks will tell you that you should still use likes/favorites, even if they're are private, to let people know when you enjoy their posts?

A random thing I realized that I haven't really seen pointed out before, this can also be useful for people who use the number of likes/favorites to determine which posts should be automatically deleted.

Should have mentioned -- this works in #Mastodon and #glitchsoc servers from 4.2.0 onwards. The "from" filter works from 3.5.0 onwards.

The "from" filter works in #gotosocial 0.16.0 and up.

And the "from" and "language" filters work in #friendica 2024.3 and later releases.

If other server types support these search queries let me know.

We deployed the grouped notifications experimental feature on mastodon.online and mastodon.social, and are looking for some initial testers to gather performance information and ensure it works properly.

This feature is only available in the web UI for now (see 2nd screenshot)

There are some known issues (around keyboard navigation) and the API is not yet final.

Please open a Github issue if you find any problem with them, so we can fix it before the 4.3-beta1 release!

Do you want to make sure you always notice posts by particular accounts you are following?

You can switch on notifications for posts from those accounts by going to their profile page and clicking on the 🔔 bell icon.

Clicking the bell means you will get a notification every time that account posts. The notification will appear in the same place you get notified about boosts, replies, mentions etc.

(If you change your mind, just click the bell again to switch it off.)

Did you know that #Mastodon 4.2.0 introduced additional search filters?

You can add text like "from:me", "has:media", "is:reply", or "language:de" to your search text to limit the results further.

That's not very user friendly, so we can do better.

on #mastodon my timeline is clean I can release the publications of the lists that I want to look at the same time. on #Friendan I ordered my circles and my channels correctly. Is there a way to block or authorize a circle to display publication on the Timeline.
