We have a Fedi-Instragram: #Pixelfed

We have a Fedi-YouTube: #PeerTube

We have a Fedi-Reddit: #Lemmy and #KBin

I recall someone working on Fedi-Meetup, but I'm not sure what it's status is.

What other Fedi-things do we want/need? Are we still missing Fedi-Facebook, or is that pointless? Fedi-Google+? Would Fedi-chat even make sense?

And most importantly... how do we unify identity across all of these so they actually interop transparently?

I don’t have any meta accounts, but the 17y old one uses instagram with really all of their friends and they use it mainly for group chat. So getting them off instagram would definitely need te be somewhat similar.

I do believe it could! But the first reaction was “oomph changing apps” and “I’ll be all alone there” so I gues it’s a lot of peer pressure combined with human inertia…

I coaxed my family on to Signal for family chats. Some are also on other things still, but they know Signal is where the immediate family chat is.

The switching costs are the same no matter what they're moving to, so may as well move to something good.

fully agree! We have the parents chat on signal too. I keep evanglising to the oldest offspring they can convince friends to switch too. It might take some but I can see it happening.

Fedi Facebook = frendica, chat maybe matrix...? I hear tell only haven't tried them out.
